Last updated: September 12, 2026. Short version: your scans never leave your phone.
Adapted from the Aurora Software Labs privacy policy, written specifically for CropGuard.
CropGuard is built privacy-first by Aurora Software Labs. We collect as little data as possible, process disease detection entirely on your device, and explain plainly here everything that does — and does not — leave your phone.
The CropGuard app stores your leaf photos, diagnoses, and scan history locally on your device only. There are no cloud accounts, no syncing to our servers, and no analytics pipeline — we cannot see your crops, your photos, or your field data. If your device is lost or the app is uninstalled without a backup, that data is gone, and we cannot recover it for you.
CropGuard requests only the permissions it needs for features you actively use: camera access to capture leaf photos, and storage access to keep your scan history and the on-device model. Photos are analyzed by the model on your phone and are never transmitted anywhere.
When you visit cropguard.pages.dev, your browser sends standard request information (IP address, browser type, referrer) to our hosting provider. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or cross-site analytics that profile individuals. Preferences like your theme choice and intro dismissal are stored only in your own browser.
The download page queries the public GitHub releases API to show the latest CropGuard version. That request goes directly from your browser to GitHub and is subject to GitHub's privacy policy. If it fails, the page simply falls back to the bundled download link.
The name and email you type into the download form or feedback form never leave your browser on their own — the download form composes an email in your own mail app, and the feedback form only displays an on-screen confirmation. To actually reach us, use the email or WhatsApp options below.
When you email us at support.aurorasoftwarelabs@gmail.com or message us on WhatsApp, we receive the content and contact details you explicitly share. We use them solely to answer your questions, fix technical issues, and improve CropGuard. We never sell, trade, or use your details for unsolicited marketing.
If you join or follow our official WhatsApp channel, your interaction is governed by WhatsApp's (Meta's) privacy policy. As channel administrators, we cannot see your phone number, profile photo, or account details unless you contact us directly, and engagement metrics from WhatsApp are anonymous and aggregated.
You can ask us to delete any email, message, or support correspondence you have sent us at any time — just write to support.aurorasoftwarelabs@gmail.com. Anything stored in the app itself is entirely in your hands: clearing history or uninstalling removes it permanently.
If this policy changes meaningfully, we will update the date above and note it in the changelog.
